Bracer Points, and where the extra BP hides
Bracer Points are awarded for the work you take from the guild board. The mechanic that catches people out is not earning BP — it is reporting it. A request that is completed but never handed in does not bank its points.
THE THREE WAYS BP ENTERS YOUR TOTAL
- Main quest BP. Chapter-advancing quests carry a fixed BP award. In the Prologue these are General Training (2 BP) and Midnight Attack (3 BP).
- Extra BP inside a quest. The same Prologue quest that carries 3 BP also contains an additional 11 BP available through its objectives. This is where the meaningful gap between players comes from: the quest is worth 3 if you do it, and considerably more if you do it thoroughly.
- BP from dialogue choices. Specific conversations award BP for picking a particular line. Three are documented in the Prologue:
| Location | Choice | BP |
|---|---|---|
| Saint-Croix Forest | “The mercenary assailants” | +2 |
| Le Locle Training Grounds | “Move to a new base” | +3 |
| Grimsel Fortress | “Call? There’s no need” | +2 |
A recorded Prologue main-quest BP total is 16. Treat that as a guide figure from a step-by-step source rather than as a published maximum.
THE REPORTING RULE
Quest BP is credited when the request is reported, not when it is finished. The practical consequence is a checklist habit: before you leave an area or close a chapter, check the board for anything completed-but-unreported. This is also why an achievement exists for completing and reporting all quests — the two halves are separate conditions.
WHAT BP IS FOR
- Bracer rank. BP accumulates into your guild standing, and advancing to Senior Bracer A-Rank is one of the 49 achievements.
- Reward objectives. A separate achievement covers completing all reward objectives, which is a distinct completion layer from quest completion.
- Quest-specific outcomes. At least one quest has a BP outcome that depends on the answer you give, and there is a documented community correction around how much BP one such quest actually awards — a reminder that crowd-sourced BP numbers should be checked against your own game rather than trusted as exact.
WHAT MAKES BP MISSABLE
- Skipping a choice line during a conversation awards nothing and is not recoverable in that playthrough.
- Objectives inside a quest can be partially completed, leaving the extra BP on the table.
- A completed quest that is never reported earns nothing, and chapters can close.
- Requests available in a chapter may not remain available later.
A SENSIBLE BP HABIT
- Before each chapter transition, walk the guild board and report everything outstanding.
- On every quest that has objectives, read them before you finish the fight — several are completion conditions rather than flavour text.
- Treat dialogue choices as content, not filler. Some of them are worth BP and there is no in-game indicator that you are leaving points behind.
- If you are following a BP number from a community guide, keep your own count. The documented correction on one quest is exactly the kind of discrepancy that gets copied forward.
NOT ON THIS PAGE
A per-chapter BP total. The Prologue figure is the only chapter total we could verify, and the per-chapter tables for the rest of the game are listed as an open item rather than estimated.
