Chapters and Bracer quests
COVERAGE STATEMENT — READ THIS FIRST
The chapter structure below is complete and sourced. The quest-by-quest tables are verified only for the Prologue through Chapter 2, which is where our readable sources currently reach. Chapters 3 through 8 and the finale are listed by chapter but their quest lists are not yet enumerated here. We state this rather than filling the gaps with guesses.
THE CHAPTER STRUCTURE
The chapter names below are the ones this release uses, read off its own achievement list — which means every chapter in this table is confirmed to exist in this product.
| Order | Chapter |
|---|---|
| Prologue | A Young Girl’s Decision |
| Chapter 1 | A Looming Shadow |
| Chapter 2 | The Raging Land |
| Chapter 3 | A Mad Tea Party |
| Chapter 4 | Malevolent Mist |
| Chapter 5 | That Which Must Be Protected |
| Chapter 6 | The Whereabouts of Bonds |
| Chapter 7 | Tetracyclic Towers |
| Chapter 8 | Land of Turmoil |
| Final Chapter | Trails in the Sky |
You can also read that table as a completion timeline. The achievement percentages recorded for each chapter fall off steeply — the Prologue achievement sits around 60% of tracked players and the final chapter around 0.3% — which tells you where most players stop. See /achievements/ for the figures.
PROLOGUE — WHAT IS VERIFIED
The Prologue, “A Young Girl’s Decision”, is the most fully documented stretch. Its main quest structure and Bracer Point awards are known:
- General Training, worth 2 BP.
- Midnight Attack, worth 3 BP, plus an additional 11 BP available within it.
- Prologue main-quest BP total as recorded in a step-by-step guide: 16.
Three dialogue choices inside the Prologue carry BP:
| Where | Choice that awards BP | BP |
|---|---|---|
| Saint-Croix Forest | “The mercenary assailants” | +2 |
| Le Locle Training Grounds | “Move to a new base” | +3 |
| Grimsel Fortress | “Call? There’s no need” | +2 |
There is also at least one collectible book to pick up in the Prologue, and guide notes record that its free window is small — the practical advice is to take it when you see it, because a missed copy is usually purchasable later from a shop rather than lost forever. See /bracer-points/ for how BP and rewards interact.
CHAPTERS 1–2 — WHAT IS VERIFIED
A guide in progress documents the Chapter 1 route through Ruan and the Mercia Orphanage, and the Chapter 2 route in Ruan. Those are the areas covered. Beyond those two stops, the readable sources stop, which is why the coverage statement at the top of this page exists.
NEW QUESTS THIS REMAKE ADDS
The original game’s quests are all present in this remake, and a small number of new ones were added: five new side quests, three of which sit in Chapter 8, plus one additional main quest near the end of the game. That is a useful planning fact — if you have played the original SC, the content you have not seen is concentrated late rather than spread evenly.
MISSABLE AND TIME-SENSITIVE ITEMS WE CAN STATE
- BP from dialogue choices. Awarded at fixed points in the Prologue and elsewhere. Missing a choice does not lose the quest, but it does lose the BP.
- Quest reporting. BP is awarded for completing and reporting quests, so a finished quest that was never handed in is not banked.
- One quest has an answer-dependent BP outcome. A community discussion of the “Winners Wanted” quest records a route-specific answer and a BP correction, which is why the quest appears in this list at all. See /bracer-points/ for the mechanism.
- Four fish are only obtainable in Chapter 8, at points you have to revisit, and one of them requires a specific rod bought elsewhere. Fishing completion therefore depends on late-game backtracking — see /achievements/ for the fishing achievement.
- Chest and bestiary completion are counted. Hundreds of treasure chests and hundreds of enemy types are tracked, so both are missable-in-practice through a normal playthrough.
WHAT IS NOT ON THIS PAGE YET
Per-chapter quest tables for Chapters 3–8 and the finale, and a BP total for any chapter other than the Prologue. Those are the specific things a source would need to supply.
